Born and raised in St. Joseph, Bob Ehrenberg attended St. Joseph Public Schools and earned undergraduate and law degrees at Valparaiso University, graduating with honors. At Valparaiso, he earned a varsity letter in swimming, and served as chapter president of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Student Senate treasurer and Business Editor of the Valparaiso University Law Review.
Bob was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1978; the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan; U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Indiana; U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit; and the Supreme Court of Michigan.
For 23 years, Bob handled personal injury claims at Butzbaugh & Ehrenberg law firm in St. Joseph. Upon his partner’s retirement, Bob joined Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers in 2001 and continued handling personal injury claims until his retirement on December 31, 2021. In retirement, Bob continues to offer his expertise representing injured persons to the Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers staff.
During 43 years of practice, Bob was named a Michigan Super Lawyer and to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He was active with the State Bar of Michigan Civil Procedure & Courts Committee and the Character and Fitness Candidate Interview Committee, and served as secretary of the Berrien County Bar Association and vice president of the Berrien County Trial Lawyers Association.
An active member of the St. Joseph community, Bob has served in leadership positions at First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation, Fairways Association at Harbor Shores, St. Joseph City Planning Commission, Old Edgewater Neighborhood Association and St. Joseph River Yacht Club. Bob and his wife, Cindy, have two children: Emily, a graduate of Indiana University, and Elizabeth, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin; and are grandparents of Charles Ehrenberg Mosbach.
