The association’s President John C. Johnson said Barry Conybeare would serve on the Executive Committee and as chairman of the 2016 Law Day Celebration prior to becoming president for a one-year term in May 2016.
As president-elect, Conybeare brings more than 20 years of personal injury law experience to the local bar association. He also is active with the Michigan Association for Justice and has served on its board of directors since 2003. Conybeare served consecutive three-year terms on the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Candidate Interview Committee for Southwest Michigan. He is included in The Best Lawyers in America and is a Michigan Leading Lawyer and Super Lawyer. Conybeare, his wife Jody and their four children reside in St. Joseph.
The Berrien County Bar Association is the oldest association of lawyers in the county. It currently serves members who practice all areas of law. The bar association, in addition to hosting the Law Day Celebration, sponsors frequent seminars for attorneys and collaborates with the judicial system to maintain efficiency in the Berrien County Trial Court.
