Best Lawyers has named Barry Conybeare the 2017 Lawyer of the Year, Plaintiffs Personal Injury Litigation – Kalamazoo Region (Southwest Michigan). He practices all aspects of personal injury law, including: auto collisions; medical, hospital and nursing home malpractice; product liability; insurance claims; and other injury cases. He is the owner of Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers, P.C. in St. Joseph, Michigan.
Barry was born and raised in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph and attended high school at Lake Michigan Catholic. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree, magna cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law. His father, Bruce Conybeare, founded Conybeare Injury and Accident Lawyers in 1984, and Barry joined the firm ten years later. Barry is active with the Michigan Association for Justice, serving on its board of directors since 2003, and he is the current President of the Berrien County Bar Association. He has been a speaker and commentator at seminars for personal injury attorneys.
Barry is active in political, civic, and community affairs. He currently serves on the St. Joseph Public Schools Board of Education. He is an avid golfer and a devoted fan of University of Michigan sports. He and his wife Jody have four children and reside in St. Joseph.
